A Prayer for School Starting
Rev. Kamatara Johnson
APS just restarted…so here’s a prayer for students, faculty, and staff.
As I recognize the Presence of the One Loving Source, I know it is God. God is everywhere, every time, everything, and everyone. God is the school bus, the bus driver, the kids on the bus, and the school where they’re going. The interaction between them all is God expressing in the moment. There is no separation as God manifests in infinite variety every moment of the day and night.
As God is all there is, I know that I am one with the One. So too are all faculty and staff, every worker and teacher returning to the schools this week. Each adult is aligned with the Divine that is Presence and Power within. So too are all the students, returning to learning and friendship and exciting opportunities through school…all of that is God expressing too!
Knowing this connection of the Divine in all, as all, I speak my word for everyone going back to school. I affirm a peaceful transition into classes and each other. I welcome the guidance of Spirit as teachers choose kind and empowering words for their students, releasing anything harsh or overbearing. I also welcome the Love of God into the students’ hearts as well, to cut their teachers some slack, with patience and kindness, and to create positive friendships with other students. Anything like tension or conflict falls away. The relationships between students and adults all lift each other up and help to expand consciousness. A gentle, loving respect is fostered in these learning communities as knowledge turns into wisdom and proximity turns into love. Our schools are blessed, our students and faculty are blessed, all their families are blessed, and our city is blessed.
And so I give thanks. What an opportunity to affect change by praying for the thousands of people mobilizing for school. I am grateful for the support of Spirit and all the adults and youths who are positive pioneers everywhere they go. I am grateful for all the learning, the kind that can be measured and the kind that cannot. I am grateful for our schools’ safety and conscious evolution into a kinder, gentler place of empowerment.
With complete confidence in the Law, I release this prayer knowing it is already manifesting in the lives of our loved ones and even for ourselves. This prayer is in the Hands of the Divine, so it is done! And so it is.
