Affirming Surrender

I surrender to the power, presence and forgivingness; the letting go; the setting you free from what I think you’re thinking and the judgment that serves no one and no thing, and I embrace the faith and freedom I receive in exchange.

I surrender to the brilliance of cleared vision, seeing with the heart, and the sweet song of right thinking, and it is in this space that I surrender to who I AM.  In this place I can see and praise your beauty emerging from the shadow of my opinion and praise the I AM that is you.

How good it is to forgive myself; to give up any part of me that casts a shadow on my image as I stand in front of the mirror of my very Essence.

I am reminded that as I let go of that thing – that thing that is buried in yesterday – that thing that, no matter how I rethink it, cannot be changed, I clear the stage, clean the pallet, write a new song about the real self, the authentic self, who Spirit brought into being; that perfect original blessing who remains unscathed by my bruised and broken attempts to change the past.

I am reminded that I cannot help you carry today’s requirements if I am clutching the ancient resentments of a minute ago.  I am reminded that I cannot hold you today if my arms are full of yesterday.  I am reminded that as I let go of the apparitions of the past, I free not only my soul, but also the souls of those held captive in my judgment.

Today, I affirm the gifts of surrender and am able to see the blessing that is you.  And so it is!
