Finding Peace

Finding Peace
by Rev. Kamatara Johnson, Director of Collaborative Ministries

“If you cannot find peace within yourself, you’ll never find it anywhere else.” Marvin Gaye

I take a deep breath, a sigh, soften my shoulders, unclench my jaw, and put my feet flat on the ground. I let me defenses down and raise my awareness to know I am safe and well supported in the Divine. I put my armor aside and relax into the knowing that God is all there is, expressing in beautiful and bountiful ways. I allow myself to be in the flow of that Divine expression, to recognize the Divine expressing as me!

I welcome the peace that comes with the flow. Today, I step out peacefully to do the work of the Divine. I sit in peace at my desk. I feel peace in my gut and in my heart, expanding with each breath that opens my lungs to the flow. I speak peacefully and gently. I see the peace that is all around me and I know that all is in Divine Right Order. I am a channel of peace for myself regardless of what happens today. I am the calm inside the storm and the safe haven for my own self and for others seeking peace as well.

I give thanks for the peace of the Divine, to be strong yet soft and gentle. I lean into the Divine for that strength and surrender anything harsh or disturbing so as to soften my hard edges. I am grateful for the flow that is the Divine through me.

With deep faith in the power of peace, I release this prayer into the Law, knowing that peace is my experience inside and out right now. And so it is. Amen.
