For Bill McKibben Who Left on Friday
by Rev. Martha Quintana, Senior Minister

This prayer is for Bill McKibben, fierce lover of Karen, God, Ernest Holmes, his family, and his friends. He left an indelible mark of love on this planet, and I am grateful for his friendship. He worked tirelessly for the causes he supported and, when he left, he was clear his work here was done. We honor his new life and know that the love we had for him and he for us carries him until we meet again. Ashé. Namasté, Bill.
Prayer:
There is One Life, The Life. I call It now and recognize that It is everything on this planet and beyond. It is the very breath of the angels and the heartbeat of every person and creature. Life is and wherever It is, It is peace, love, harmony, unity, and balance.
Because Life is, I am. As I know this for me, I know it for Bill McKibben. He is an infinite being incarnate momentarily to experience this life as him. Like life, he is peace, love, harmony, unity, and balance. He is born of life, experiences life, and now has shed his mortal coil, to return to life. His experiences here are perfect, he is wholly unified with life, and all that no longer serves him has fallen away.
I affirm and declare for Bill, a brand-new life filled with peace and freedom. He now knows and experiences love in its most direct form and, as he returns to his Creator, he sees himself as the whole, perfect, and complete man he knew himself to be. He is met at the door by his loved ones who have gone before. Their reunion is joyous and loving. Bill sends messages of goodness to his beloved Karen and all of his beloved friends. I affirm and declare Karen is surrounded in a circle of peace and knows how loved she is. She continues to receive all the love and support the universe can offer. Bill is free to live his best life and takes joy in doing so. He is free.
I am grateful for Bill; grateful for his help in founding our Rio Grande Center for Spiritual Living; grateful for his friendship and support. I am grateful for his practitioner consciousness and, most of all, grateful that he blessed so many people in this lifetime. He will not be forgotten and forever remembered for his goodness. Thank you, God!
I release my word back into the Law knowing that Bill is free and knowing that he and I will meet again. Until then. And so it is. Amen.
