I Do Not Believe in Conflict and Confusion. I Believe in Peace
by Chris Duvall, RScP
When I listen to the news and am not centered in Spirit, I feel upset, frustrated, or fearful. I see war, violence, power struggle, loss, impending loss, suffering of humans, suffering of nature.
Praying the news is a way of sharing Love and Light with myself and the world. Here is how I do it.
· I turn my attention to Source and remember that It is continuously creating the cosmos. Its Light dissolves darkness. I visualize the situation described on the news as flooded with Light-filled Presence. I breathe and consciously unite with ruha (Aramaic for our high self, soul, also Breath). I remember who I am as an expression of creative Light-filled Breath and that the same applies to others involved.
· I take time to mourn for the turmoil being experienced and extend my heart to those who are suffering or may be lost in their naphsha (Aramaic for our small self, material aspect).
· I say, “No!” to the situation. I state the exchange I want to see. For example, “I do not believe in conflict and confusion, I believe in Peace; I exchange conflict for Peace!” … “I do not believe in loss; I believe that the soul of every Divine expression is forever embedded in Life. I exchange loss for Life!” … Or I declare, “No harm, no trespass or stealing, no attachment to old stories! Only good comes to me and all. Only good goes from me and all!” … I ask Light-filled Power to address the situation according to Its High Understanding.
· Believing that my prayer has been heard and that my remembrance has an impact, I gratefully release the situation to Source.
I encourage and bless all who seek to apply our spiritual understandings for healing within our world.
