In the Present,
by Kamatara Johnson, RScP
“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.” Henry David Thoreau
So I focus on my breath in this moment and bring my awareness to the eternity of this breath. The Divine that is breathing me; I that am breathing the Divine. I am fully present in this moment, which is part of the Infinite and the finite at the same time. I am where the eternal shows up in the now. I am the expression of the Divine with each breath in each moment.
Knowing this alignment with the Divine and my place in the eternal Now, I claim peace of mind. I slow down to the speed of mindfulness. I see what is in front of me. I hear who is speaking. I listen from the heart. I speak my words thoughtfully, guided by Spirit. I stay in the gentle flow of my day is it unfolds in its own way, without my attachment, tension, or force. I allow the moment to be what it is and recognize the Divine in that moment. In this state of peaceful awareness, I am an instrument of the Divine. I am part of the whole that is greater. My now is part of eternity. I ride the wave and it takes me to new and beautiful places.
And these new and beautiful places are blessed. I am so grateful to step into this flow and balance where way leads unto way and life unfolds with grace and ease. I appreciate this peace of mind and peace of time. I give thanks for each breath, each now, each new experience of the bounty of the Divine.
In this state of flowing peace, I release this prayer knowing that all is well, all is Good, all is God. I let it all go into the Law and relax back into the now and ride the wave. And so it is.
