Wishing Our Practitioner,
Lovater Jones, a Fond Farewell

Lovater H. Jones, a founding member of the Rio Grande Center for Spiritual Living, a teacher of
practitioners, beloved member of our community and a remarkable human being made her transition
on July 16, 2025 after a long illness. Lovater was known as a positive teacher and powerful
prayer. Her students remember her for all they learned in her classes, and those she prayed for
remember her comfort and effectiveness. Lovater is survived by her daughter, Marya, and her son,
Mark. A memorial service is planned for November.
In lieu of cards and flowers, we request your generous donations to a Memorial Fund, which will be
shared with her children for expenses accumulated over a long illness and end of life.
You can donate by clicking here. Please make sure to choose the Lovater Jones Memorial Fund from the drop down.
There is a Celebration of Life being held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 3 – 5 p.m. (Lovater’s first heavenly birthday!) at First Unitarian Church located at 3701 Carlisle Blvd. NE (corner of Carlisle and Comache)

Bon Voyage mt friend!
Lovater was my fellow classmate when and we became SOM Practitioners together. We journeyed together for over 10 years. We shared beautiful experiences at many retreats. Lovater was always poised and wise, kind and had a great laugh. She impacted my life in a positive way. I send my love and heart to her family.
Lovater’s clarity of mind, her certainty of Truth has been such a gift. Her life has been a testimony to Love and Grace. The lovely fragrance of her presence continues on.
