“Love after Love”

“Love after Love”
by Rev. Martha Quintana,Senior Minister

 “The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.”

Prayer

There is One Love, that Love that is everyone and everything. Love is the very nourishment of Life and It arrives that all is whole, perfect, and complete. Each moment, all creation in every dimension is perfect because Love created from itself to experience itself. In every moment that Love creates, It also imbues Peace, Joy, Harmony, Happiness, Health, and Unfettered Abundance. It is.

Because It is, I am. I am love which nourishes my life. At all moments, no matter the appearance, I am perfect, whole, and complete. I can never be taken away from love and, in this moment, I am so wholly and perfectly aligned with It that all else falls away. No one and nothing can stand against me when love is fully present. As I know this for me, I know this for the person reading this prayer and I accept it on our behalf.

I speak my word for all of us. No matter the condition and no matter how far I’ve gone, I can return home again to my heart. I retrieve the goodness that is my spirit and use it to find my way back to balance, back to health, and back to peace. I am not alone for that Life that creates me every moment, creates me again the moment I choose. I choose Life right now and, in faith, I choose to be held in the arms of good, peace, and love. I am restored to the vitality and essence of my own being and I feast on my own beautiful experience of life. It is a good day.

I am grateful for my life, grateful for the abundance of love in my life, for the grand beauty of my heart, and for the joy that I am.  I am grateful for the people I love and who love me.  I am grateful for the people of the Rio Grande Center who are a constant beacon of light and a message of good in this world.

With gratitude, I release my word and know this prayer is done. And so it is. Amen.
