Respect vs. Judgment

“If we think we can guide our brother aright, while our own feet still walk in darkness, we are mistaken. We must first clarify our own vision, then we shall become as lights, lighting the way for others.” – Dr. Ernest Holmes
Infinite Divine Life, creative and abundant Energy, I speak from that place wherein my own spark of divinity resides. I allow myself to drink from the font of wisdom, compassion, and a sense of my connection to all of humankind. From that revered viewpoint, I witness all people everywhere as possessing their own inherent goodness. I know and declare that each of us is fully capable of out-picturing that goodness through their thoughts, words, and actions. Today I set aside any preconceived judgments around another – be it of race, creed or personality attributes — for they do not serve me, and I totally release them from my own consciousness. Instead, I choose to focus my energy on my God-source, on my connection to the Light and the Love. As I do so, I see this energy field expanding outward encompassing everyone in my field of awareness. I look around, and all I see is the beautiful and wondrous face of God looking back at me. Recognizing that capacity that radiates in each of us, I am respectful of our rights to be independent thinkers, to choose our own sacred path, regardless how it may appear in light of my own opinions and viewpoints. Respect for another shows up as a return to civil discourse, active listening without need to interrupt to insert my own comments, and a simple celebration of each person’s unique contribution to our world. Today I set my intention to cease any form of personal judgment concerning another human being, and instead gravitate to a respect for people’s capacity to be their own best self. My heart is free as the burden of judgment lifts, and filled with joy as the gift of respect enters the void left in its stead. Thank you, dear sweet Spirit, for this revelation of wholeness. I am grateful and I am so blessed. And so it is.
