The Ever-Renewing Love of the Ancestors

The Ever-Renewing Love of the Ancestors
by Rev. Martha Quintana, Senior Minister

There is One Energy – One Life Force. I call It now so that I become aware of all Life in and around me. It is everywhere equally present. There is no place where this Life is not. It is on the top of the highest mountain and at the lowest point of the deepest ocean. It dwells in all creatures known and unknown; in dimensions known and unknown. This Life, which I call Goddess, lives in all of Her creation and yet is not absorbed by Her creation. She lives and has always lived.

I am one with Life, with the Goddess. Her presence indwells my spirit and everywhere I go, She has already been there making clear and smooth my way. I am so wholly and perfectly aligned with Her that everything and everyone in my life who is not part of my Divine Plan falls away never to return. As I dance the dance of Life and dance with Her, I am restored, renewed, and revitalized. I am born again and again and again. As I know this is true for me, I know this to be true of the person reading this prayer in this moment.

I affirm and declare blessings and new birth in my relationships with my family. Each are born of Life and so I recognize the Great Mother’s blessing in each of them. I affirm and declare that each family member is blessed and these blessings come from the ancient wisdom and the ever-renewing love of the ancestors cloaked in the Love of the Goddess. I wear this cloak and know that all is well in my world and the world of my family. This mantle of love spans beyond time, beyond the physical universe into the energy and life force of all ancestors who have gone before me, my current family who still lives on the physical plane, and all those people who come after me. These blessings bring peace to all relations in my family and no matter the appearance, solutions and happiness make themselves known. I know the same is true for the reader of this prayer.

I am so grateful for my husband, daughter, mother, father, brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers, friends, extended family, and community. I am the result of the love of thousands and I happily embrace this love and know that the energy of my being is uplifted. I recognize my own gratitude as part of the continuing chain of love that brings others into existence. This is so and has always been so.

Knowing that all is well and that the potency of my word is embedded in consciousness, I simply release it and call it a day. And so it is. Amen.
