The Universe is Home
by Carol S. Helms, RScP
Today I stand firmly in and walk, talk, pray and praise the Good that is the Universe. I stand in the knowing that I am one with the Essence that created everything and everyone, and it is in that place that I set aside my ego and fill the void with grace, graciousness and gratitude that I, and only I, am the one who determines what I see and hear, and how I interpret both. I am the gatekeeper of me. So I go within to that pure, untouched point of origin at the core of my being and re-think my thinking with my Creator. I metaphorically soar the heavens in contemplation of who I am in a Universe that is all good, and knowing the impossibility of “bad”, I remember that the concept of bad is a human construct, a fiction of my own making. It’s in the sacred inner space with the Sacred Essence that I remember that I stand in the Truth that the Universe and I are one…and all good. Then I stop fighting people and things.
When I stop blaming outside influences for my state of happiness and worthiness, I free myself to see myself as my Maker intended, and I see others as the beautiful beings each is intended to be seen as God intended; uniquely created to live freely and be seen through the eyes of the Creator of all.
It’s in this state of surrendering the things I cannot change that I see who I am and redirect my energy into focusing on the courage to change the things I can. It’s in this place that I thank my Beloved Creator and ask what would You have me know today, what would You have me do today, what would You have me be today? I walk in the confidence that every step is in the footprints of the Creator of everything and everyone. I redirect my thoughts from what “you” are doing to me, and accept responsibility that I am the guardian of my beliefs, ideas, thoughts, actions, attitude and feelings.
You may ask what does this have to do with “The Universe is Home.” When I remember that the Universe, the Essence of all creations resides at the core of my being, I remember to thank and praise God for the very gift of life that is me; then instead of blaming you and shaming me, I praise the Infinite Universe for the perfect beings each of us are, and the gift of perfection that is forever unfolding in each of us. The universe as we perceive it loses the appearance of imperfections and I honor the gift that is my life, and despite appearances, I am Home. I can release those thoughts that no longer serve God, each other and myself; and embrace the truth that the one God has created nothing that is not perfect and perfectly loved. After all, who am I to criticize any of God’s creations, including myself?
It’s in this place of true humility that I daily walk and talk with my Maker knowing that God is always everywhere present, and that I am always “at Home” wherever I am, and we all know “there is no place like home.” Welcome home.
And so it is!
