To Have Peace, Teach Peace to Learn It

“To Have Peace, Teach Peace to Learn It.” ~A Course in Miracles
There is but One – One Magnificent, Generous, Loving Father whom I call God. God is It – the Alpha and the Omega, the All in All that guides and protects and loves His Children; the Whole Totality of Love. God is Perfect Peace and that Essence is forever ours for the taking, for the giving, for the being.
How good it is to recognize that the essence of Life is mine. Amid the confusion of free will and the seeming ability to oppose God, there rests His Eternal Peace. God is the “peace that surpasses all understanding” and that peace is mine for the asking. It is yours for the asking. God wrapped His Children’s hearts in peace and He gave us shelter from the storms. I snuggle into that shelter, knowing that I am one with Spirit. My heart is God’s heart. My love is God’s love. My life is God’s.
So knowing this truth, I embrace the knowingness that the only way to have peace is to teach it. The only way to learn peace is to be peace. Therefore in this moment, I affirm that peace is mine. Peace is yours. Peace is everyone’s. I recognize that although there are those who appear not to know who they are, who seem to live lives disconnected from Spirit, that in truth, no one can sever that connection. I recognize my brothers and sisters. I feel our kinship. We are one and in that oneness beats the heart of love. It is peace. It is joy. It is shared, for only in sharing is it known. So, when I stumble upon “others” who seem not to know this about themselves, I know it for them. I bless them. I mentally enshroud them in light and love. I offer peace. I understand that it is not up to me to dictate when another is ready to accept my offering, but it is my sacred duty to offer it.
I teach love. I am committed to peace. I am committed to nonviolent communication. I see with Christ’s vision because I ask the Holy Spirit to make all judgments for me. I teach peace that I might learn it. I spread joy for I know that giving it is how I keep it.
And I give thanks – thanks for all of the giving, thanks for the peace of God, thanks for all my brothers and sisters – even those who are challenging to love because they have forgotten who they are. I give thanks that I can know it for them, for we are one and what is true of me is true of everyone. I give thanks that God loves ALL His children. I give thanks. I am so grateful.
Then I release this prayer, for God’s Peace is already here and therefore, it is already done. And so it is. Amen.
