A Healing Visualization

This visualization was inspired by my husband, partner, and fellow Religious Scientist, Richard Hanlen.
Sit comfortably, and allow yourself to be fully present to this moment. Open to that all-pervasive Presence of the One Life, permeating your being above, below, within, and without. Take a deep cleansing breath, and simply feel your body, right where you sit.
Now, concentrate on your heartbeat. Allow yourself to attune to its rhythmic beat, focusing solely on the sound and the vibration: lub-DUB, lub-DUB, lub-DUB. Place your hand on your chest as this may assist you in feeling its steady beat. After sitting with your heartbeat for a few moments, now start to see your internal organs and circulatory path. Your circulatory system is made up of your heart and three main types of blood vessels — arteries, veins and capillaries, with your heart at the center of the system. See it now acting as a pump to distribute nutrient- and oxygen-rich blood through your body. Watch the flow, through the arteries, the veins, and the capillaries. Now picture an unwanted pathogen, perhaps as a small, comma shaped bacteria, with protruding tendrils. Realizing that your body no longer needs this unwanted bacteria, picture the good bacteria, shaped like an upside-down Y, easily and gently eliminating the unwanted pathogens. See them as they take away carbon dioxide through your lungs, and other waste your body doesn’t need, traveling down to your kidneys and intestines. Release them as they are no longer necessary to your health and well being. Be grateful for this perfect system of elimination and revitalization. Know that at your core you are now, and indeed have always been, whole and healed. As you move through your day, remember and state life-affirming statements, such as “I drink the water of life, and it perfectly cleanses all toxins from my body” or “As I breathe deeply, my lungs are rejuvenated into their normal state of wellness.”
Moving back into the awareness of your body where you sit, feel yourself filled with gratitude and a renewed sense of vitality, as you declare, “And so it is.”
