Dad’s Life: The Breath of the Creator

Dad’s Life: The Breath of the Creator
by Rev. Martha Quintana, Senior Minister

In this moment, I remember Love. It is the beating of my heart, the sound of my dog sleeping in the room as her paws move. She is running in her dreams and loving her life. I remember Love and hear the sounds of my neighbors coming home after a long day away.  I see the starlings darting in and out of field, filling the skies with their patterns of flight and calling to each other.  They, too, have been away and home after a long day. I remember Love.

In this moment, I remember love and know peace. I remember love and recognize that my existence is inextricably intertwined with the Breath of the Creator. I remember love in the form of my father, his father, and all the fathers that came before and, I remember myself. As I experience this ancestral love, I know it for everyone else who is part of this universe. Love is the nurturing life force of each person and as each person remembers love, each experiences peace, harmony, health, goodness, abundance, and beauty. Love is the foundation of all of it.

I affirm for all Dads, whether they be on this plane or the next, a bounty of love, a goodness so palpable that peace is the only experience to have. From this peace, only good happens and anything unlike good falls away. The appearance of lack or limitation, like illness or poverty, cannot stand when a person remembers the truth of his being. When Truth arrives, a good day ensues.  I affirm for all children, whether their relationship with Dad is good or not, the love of the Creator.   All is set straight, put in balance, and all is well.

I give thanks for my Dad and all the gifts he gave me during our brief time together. I am so grateful for him.  I am grateful for my grandfather and all the grandfathers before.  I am the benefactor of their wisdom.  I give thanks for all Dads everywhere and the goodness they imparted. I give thanks for my experience of peace and I give thanks that Love surrounds, guides, and enfolds me in its goodness. I am blessed and I am grateful.

Knowing that Love is in charge, I release my word into the Law and know this prayer reaches all who need to experience it.  It is complete. And so it is.  Amen.
