Enough is Enough!
by Yvette Trujillo, RScP
It’s raining in the desert! As I look out onto the beautiful yellow hills and black mesas of the New Mexico desert, I am reminded that there is always enough. There is enough sand. There is enough big beautiful sky. There are enough blades of grass, there is even enough rain. It is easy to see that God is right here in the midst of this magical moment.
Especially in the desert I recognize that each drop of is sacred. And isn’t that true for all of us? We are precious, needed, perfect and complete right now just as we are, carrying within us all that we will ever need.
If you look out on the desert on any given day you might have the mistaken idea that somehow something is lacking. You might believe that there should be more trees or more clouds or that there should be bodies of water and more flowing rivers. But the Truth is that there is a perfection in the desert that is wonderful and unique to any other landscape. It has a beauty all its own.
This beauty reminds me that no matter what we may believe is true about ourselves, the actual truth is that within us we all have all that we will ever need in perfect order and perfect proportion. There is nothing that needs to be added or subtracted from our expression for we are individualized expression God. We have come into this human experience fully loaded…. we arrived with all the bells and whistles!
As I look out upon this beautiful desert that just so happens to be blessed by raindrops in this moment, it does not mean that the rest of the time it is insufficient.
I invite you to remember this for yourself today. You are enough just as you are.
And so it is!
