Gratitude
by Nancy R Bowers, RScP

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is more people who have come alive.” ~Howard Thurman
Settling into that place of awareness, I direct my mind back to the place of Stillness. In the Calm, I find Gratitude. In that Serenity, I am embraced by the Love, Peace and Joy of the Universe. Recognizing that these qualities of Spirit are never found in chasing, I relax into Faith that these are my inheritance – the gifts of the Father.
I already am that Divinity. I already am all that God is. I don’t have to earn it. There is no use in begging, for that implies such Goodness is not mine, and it is. I don’t pursue that which I already am. I ALIGN with those qualities. I REMEMBER to self-refer rather than other-refer. I remember that I DEFINE who I am being in the world, just as you define who you want to be in life. We are all always at choice. Who are we being?
In this moment, I affirm and declare alignment with Spirit is mine now. I affirm and declare that each of us remembers to choose what makes our hearts sing, what makes us feel alive. I remember that WHO I am being determines what actions I take. I don’t have to try; I merely remember the Truth of who I really am and then divine actions comes naturally.
We were meant to come alive, to spread love and joy and to take care of one another.
In truth, it’s all divine right action, but when reality seems to contradict my personal preferences, I have to pause and consciously choose Peace. If I can remember that the Universe is always conspiring in my favor, I am so much more likely to recognize the proof. I am so very grateful to be educated in spiritual principle so that when life seems to take a left turn, I don’t take it personally. I anchor myself in the remembrance of God’s Love. I remember that when I align with Spirit, Synchronicity joins the party. I personally couldn’t orchestrate the Divine gifts that await me when I shift from condemning what is to loving what is.
Thank you, Spirit. Help me to forever remember to appreciate the beauty that is mine. May I live from the blessing of deep appreciation for how I am cared for.
So, knowing that I am, I release the details into God’s hands. He/She/It choreographs life’s minutiae so much more easily than I and I am so very grateful that I don’t need to worry about them. When I live in Trust, God makes sure I know what’s mine to do.
The stuff that makes me feel alive.
And so it is. Amen.
