I INVOKE THE LAW OF DIVINE ORDER IN MY AFFAIRS

When we feel that our life is disordered, that our house is cluttered (the actual house, or the mental home where we dwell) and that confusion reigns, it is high time for us to understand a particular and specific thought from “The Notebooks of Ernest Holmes” (Science of Mind Publications, 1973):

Because there is no dualism in the Universe, whatever appears to be wrong is not wrong in itself but is the wrong arrangement of that which is right.”

So, in all probability, it is not that there are too many things, or wrong things, going on in our life (hence the confusion), but rather that they are all somehow just wrongly arranged?  Probably whatever we have in our physical home belongs there, though we may be disregarding the old adage that proclaims ”a place for everything and everything in its place.”  Then in the matter of a disagreement or argument with somebody, it is likely that everything which was said may, in itself, have been perfectly true; but was it right to make those statement at that particular time and in that particular tone of voice?

In any event, the old axiom says that “order is heaven’s first law,” and we cannot expect confusion to disappear until we make some conscious effort to rearrange the thoughts and the things of our daily lives into a form which has (at least) the appearance of being orderly. Say then to yourself:

I now put my house in order. I know that there is nothing essentially wrong in my circumstances, so where a problem has come about because of a wrong arrangement of anything in my affairs, I invoke the law of Divine Order to help me return to the correct arrangement, and I do it now.
