I Remember Who I Am

I Remember Who I Am

“Today is the day that God has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.”

I surrender to the One Life that, on some level, I must have known even in the womb.  I recognize and remember the One Life that wanted and welcomed me as the whole and complete expression of the One Source that dreamed and desired me into being, an designed and ordained the perfection of Her Essence in the form of me.  That One Life is Perfect, Whole and Complete.  That Life is Creator and Creation, the Source of all that is, and all that is, is Good.

So what’s not to love about little Carol, fabricated from the Fabric of Perfection, with a basketball in one hand and a guitar in the other!  I know and remember complete freedom and bliss; gifts of the Giver of Life, made in the image of Life and given in the manner that only Life can give.  I still smell the scent of wide-open promise and dreams without limits.  I can remember the Perfect Playmate, the Spirit of Perfect Safety hopping from cloud to cloud as I pulled them together to form dreams of unlimited hope, sunshine on my shoulders, running faster than wild horses and soaring across Olympic hurdles on legs of Spirit-filled muscles.  Ah, I was and remain one with the One; a blessing and blessed by the One who made me.

I affirm the innocence and enthusiasm that I knew, and now remember, as a child that is still a part of me, right here and right now.  I affirm and honor she who I was created to be.  I affirm the okay-ness of childhood joy and trust in clouds, sunshine and dreams, and recognize each now for the enduring Clouds, Sunshine and Dreams each is.  I affirm and declare unlimited possibilities and the awakening of long-dormant goals and aspirations, and I stand solidly in the knowing that who I am, is exactly who I am supposed to be.  I am strong; I am alive with energy and enthusiasm; I am!  Again, I surrender to being me, and affirm and declare I am.

I am so thankful for the constants in life.  Light remains as bright today as it was when I was a child; Freedom still reigns among the clouds and now extends beyond all would-be limits.  Connection and community still abound where I can come as I am and find room to grow.  A place where shadows and expectations are right sized and appreciated for the works in progress each is.  I am so thankful for the Light and Freedom.

So with arms and heart wide open, I release this prayer into the Law, knowing that it is done, and knowing it is the same for everyone.  Spirit, indeed, has a voice for everyone. And so it is.
