The Remembrance of Love

Let us join with our founder, Dr. Ernest Holmes, and declare:
As our thoughts go back to that Divine man who came to show us the way, the truth, and the life, let us light a candle in memory of him and pray that our light also shall shine, casting a beam of good cheer across the pathway of everyone we meet. Love is the greatest thing on earth and the highest gift of heaven. It is the only thing that can heal the broken heart and bind up the wounds of the world. In my heart, I take you by the hand and wish for you a Merry Christmas and a Glorious New Year.
My heart swells with Divine Love, as I remember the Christ within. The Light as portrayed by the shining star which guided the three Wise Men, shines brightly in my being. It guides me to live by the precepts of Hope, Peace, and Joy. It inspires me to treat others, as I would want them to treat me, with kindness, compassion, and respect. And while we are called to be loving, kind and gentle, we are also called to be strong and courageous, following the example that Jesus set in the temple. When we can make a difference, we cannot allow ignorance, injustice, or inequity to go unchecked, because that is not love.
So in this joyous season, which celebrates all traditions and all religions, I am grateful to look at that which unites us, and not that which separates us. Thankful to remember the shining example of Jesus the Christ, of Gandhi, of Martin Luther King, Jr., and all of the great ones who have shown us the way. Love, and only Love, truly overcomes all things, and today on this joyous day that is what I remember and cherish.
And so we let it be.
