Taming My Fears: The Decision for God

Taming My Fears: The Decision for God

God is Good. In this moment, I recognize the power in the presence of God. I remember that Goodness.  I remember that God is all there is and the rest of what I think I see, I made up.  Those perceptions were birthed from fear.  They have no true reality beyond what I have given them. My fears are NOT the truth; they are but wild imaginings of life without God.  My fears are faithlessness.  My fears are fiction that I have erroneously mistaken for reality.

And so, I return to my training.  I repeat this prayer from A Course in Miracles:

“I must have decided wrongly, because I am not at peace.
I made the decision myself, but I can also decide otherwise.
I want to decide otherwise, because I want to be at peace.
I do not feel guilty, because the Holy Spirit will undo all the consequences of my wrong decision if I will let Him.
I choose to let Him, by allowing Him to decide for God for me.”

~A Course in Miracles, T-5.VII.6

I am one with the Peace of God.  I increase that Peace by sharing it.  I release the worries I have conjured up and turn my mind to the Holy Spirit.  I allow Him to direct my actions. I remember how loved I am.  I remember how support I am.  I remember that, as the Course says, It is impossible to share opposing thoughts…. The Holy Spirit has reinterpreted them in the light of the Kingdom, making them, too, worthy of being shared. When they have been sufficiently purified He lets you give them away. The decision to share them is their purification.”

Let my thoughts by purified.  Let me remember that only those thoughts that reflect the Truth of God are real.  Let me recognize that when I encounter circumstances that seem to mirror something other than love, that all I am really witnessing is the call for love.  If I am seeing anything other than love, I must have decided wrongly.

Choose again.  I choose again.  I choose to allow my thoughts to be purified.  I choose to allow my fears to be tamed.  I choose God.  I choose love.  I choose peace.  I choose harmony.  I choose joy. I choose to remember that only the love is real.

God wants my happiness.  God wants me to recognize the abundance that surrounds me.  God wants me to teach only love, to share only peace and decide only for God and be vigilant in my decision.  What is true for me is true for everyone, even those who annoy me; even those who illustrate to me all the places I’ve yet to heal.

I give thanks for this remembrance of Truth.  I give thanks that I can’t really screw things up; that all is being purified; that God’s Love is irrevocable.  I am grateful that I do not need to feel guilty or bad about “wrong decisions” because the consequences were undone the moment I surrendered them.

Peace is mine.  Peace is yours.  Peace is ours, because we choose it.  I release this prayer into the Law, knowing it is already done because of the decision for God.

And so it is.  Amen.
