Transform Anger Through Compassion

“Love and compassion are the true religions to me. But to develop this, we do not need to believe in any religion.” “The topic of compassion is not at all religious business; it is important to know it is human business, it is a question of human survival.” ~Dalai Lama
What a glorious day to be alive! I just returned from a lovely walk around my property, breathing in the clean, fresh air. Thankful for my body’s ability to move and exercise, even at my older age. And I am profoundly grateful to be fully present in the stillness of the moment, finding solace in the quiet as I contemplate the divine Presence around me. Upon the completion of my walk, I turned to daily activities, engaging in reviewing the news of the day. Troubling as it is, I felt the stirrings of discontent. So now is my opportunity to choose my thoughts wisely. To look beyond the divisive headlines and instead finds ways to feel compassion for humanity. I feel that in the midst of all that is occurring in our world, we are in the process of birthing a new reality, based in Love. And that birthing process can be painful. So I carefully choose to see with new eyes through the lens of compassion, and not to be overly influenced or angered by worldly events. At the heart of this is a deep, abiding trust in the Divine, knowing at the very core of my being that each of us is loved and cared for, wrapped in the arms of Life Itself. So I turn within, breathe deeply, release any confusion or fear, and simply know that all is well.
And so it is.
Amen.
