Appreciation for Healing

Appreciation for Healing
by Nancy R Bowers, RScP

Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth,
“You owe Me.”
Look what happens with
A love like that,
It lights the Whole Sky.
Hafiz

The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-emcompassing can have no opposite. This Course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way: Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God. ~Introduction, A Course in Miracles

T-1.I.20. Miracles reawaken the awareness that the spirit, not the body, is the altar of truth. This is the recognition that leads to the healing power of the miracle. ~A Course in Miracles

There is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands. You seek problems because you need the gifts. ~Richard Bach, Illusions

This morning, I pause to appreciate the human body.

God is Love. Love is the pulse of beingness. It is the energy of Life – the very lifeforce itself. It is healing. It is all-encompassing and therefore can have no opposite. It lights the whole sky and bathes it in Love simply because that is Its nature. It is the stuff of miracles.

Therefore, I breathe into alignment. I release any and all thoughts that there is something amiss. I recognize that, although my body seems to be in pain, it is, in fact, trying to protect me. It is behaving in accordance to what I believe I am. My heart aches dully above the cracked rib. My wrist, swollen and discolored, begs for rest. I sit surrounded by its demands and acknowledge its need to be coddled. This, too, is for me. Perhaps now I will slow my pace and pause to appreciate all that is. Can I release ideas that block me from witnessing the Love that is ever-present? This, too, is teaching me the moment I decide to let it.

I surrender my perspective to appreciation. I do not know what anything is for, but I know that whatever that anything is, it is a gift; a “problem” that will cause me to stretch and grow and become more fully present to my true nature.

I give thanks for true nature. I give thanks that I neither need to understand (or delude myself into thinking I understand!), nor do I need control anything. I give thanks that life is forever in divine right order and that the Universe is conspiring in my favor. I give thanks that God does all the heavy lifting and that my only job is to have faith in what is and allow it to illuminate the shadows.

Life is so much easier when I step back and let God lead the way.

And so I do, And so it is. Amen.
